Seniors with a medical alert who are prepared to switch to the NBN are being reminded to place their alarm on the NBN Co Medical Alarm Register.
The installation of the NBN across the Bellarine will impact on those who are currently provided with a Telstra medical alert, being listed as a priority customer.
Unless the customer completes an application for a free connection it will cost them $240 for a technician to install a modem and rewire the house.
A Priority Assistance Application form needs to be completed by the Telstra Account holder, the Resident or a Customer representative, and a Doctor’s Medical Report and a Statutory Declaration provided. Once the paperwork has been completed the new connections will be installed free of charge, and the resident who is eligible for this service will be reconnected as a priority assistance customer.
